Moments Beyond Explanation
There are moments in travel you cannot defend.
You cannot explain them.
You cannot prove them.
You simply stand there and look.
A Sunset at Kitsilano Beach
This photograph was taken at Kitsilano Beach in British Columbia.
The sun was setting behind the trees, and the entire sky turned gold, orange, and soft fire.
A Scene Like a Painting
The water reflected the light like liquid metal.
The silhouettes of the trees framed the scene like a painting.
When Reality Feels Unreal
And yet, if you show this to someone, they may say:
“It’s edited.”
“It’s a filter.”
“It’s not real.”
But it is.
Colors That Cannot Be Captured
Travel sometimes gives you colors that feel impossible.
Colors that no camera can fully capture.
Colors that even your memory struggles to hold.
A Reflection That Connects
Earlier, I wrote about Travel and the Reward of the Last Light — where persistence was rewarded under the bridge.
A Simpler Reward
Here, the reward is simpler.
You just stand on the sand.
You breathe.
Accepting What Is
And you accept that nature does not need exaggeration.
You cannot force people to believe that these colors are real.
You can only be grateful that you witnessed them.
What Travel Teaches
Travel teaches humility.
Because sometimes, the world is more beautiful
than explanation allows.
