A Place I Always Return To
Harbour Air in Vancouver is not just a departure point — it’s a place filled with memories.
I have been here many times, more than I can count. Every visit feels familiar, yet exciting. Standing by the water, watching the seaplanes come and go, I always feel the same anticipation for the journey ahead.
It’s where my love for travel keeps growing.
The Magic of Seaplane Travel
There is something unique about travelling with seaplanes.
The experience begins before you even take off. The sound of the water, the movement of the planes, and the view of the harbor create a special atmosphere that you don’t find in traditional airports.
Every takeoff feels personal, almost like a small adventure of its own.
Moments Before Takeoff
I often find myself pausing here, just to take it all in.
The mountains in the distance, the calm water, and the steady activity of the harbor create a perfect balance. It’s not chaotic — it’s alive in a peaceful way.
These are the moments that stay with me the most.
The History of Harbour Air
Harbour Air was founded in 1982 in Vancouver and quickly became one of the most important seaplane operators in Canada.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the company expanded its routes, connecting Vancouver with coastal destinations such as Victoria, Nanaimo, and Whistler.
In 2007, Harbour Air became part of the Harbour Air Group, strengthening its position as the largest seaplane airline in North America.
A major milestone came in 2019, when Harbour Air successfully completed the first fully electric commercial seaplane test flight, marking a new era in sustainable aviation.
Today, it remains a key part of the West Coast travel experience.
More Than Just a Starting Point
For me, this place is more than just a terminal.
It’s where journeys begin, where memories are created, and where my passion for travel is renewed every single time I visit. Every departure carries a sense of freedom and discovery.
And no matter how many times I come back, it never feels the same — it always feels special.
