A Personal Starting Point
In the way Vancouver has formed itself inside my mind, Canada Place has become a starting point for many of my walks.
It is one of those places you can reach easily by public transportation, and from there the city opens in every direction.
A Place That Connects Everything
From this point you can begin countless walks along the waterfront, through downtown streets, or toward the parks and harbors nearby.
Even staying here for a while has its own value.
Discovering Its Atmosphere
The charm and quiet romance of the place are not immediately obvious, but once you spend time there, you begin to feel its atmosphere.
A Reflection That Connects
Earlier, I wrote about Travel Break at the Vancouver Convention Centre — another place along the harbor where the city and the sea meet.
What Canada Place Really Is
Canada Place is not exactly a street or a typical neighborhood.
It is a large waterfront complex and one of Vancouver’s most recognizable landmarks.
The site includes the cruise ship terminal, the Pan Pacific Vancouver hotel, the FlyOver Canada attraction, and part of the Vancouver Convention Centre.
There is also a small street in front of the building called Canada Place, but the name is mostly used to describe the entire harbor complex.
A View That Opens the City
Standing here, you see the mountains, the harbor, and the modern skyline all at once.
Where Every Walk Begins
And from this point, the city invites you to start walking.
Every time.
