A New Beginning

It was my first day back in Vancouver.

Not the first time.
But the first morning of six new months.

I stepped into the city with the quiet excitement of someone who knows he is about to begin again.

Entering the Light

Glass towers rising into a clear blue sky.
Reflections everywhere.
Light bouncing between buildings like restless energy.

I started taking photographs immediately.
Almost instinctively.

Movement Without Pause

I had dressed too warmly.
I did not expect the heat.

Soon I was carrying my jacket in my hands,
walking for hours,
moving from street to street, frame to frame.

Tired.
Sweating.
Smiling.

The Psychology of Anticipation

In travel psychology, anticipation expands perception.

Everything feels amplified.
Even fatigue becomes part of the joy.

If you’ve read Travel and the Glass Towers of Vancouver, you know how the city reflects both light and energy back to you.

The First Day of the Journey

It felt like preparing a boat for a long season of sailing.

You know there will be wind.
There will be long days.
There will be adjustments.

But on the first day,
you simply feel gratitude for departure.

Love, in that moment,
was not comfort.

It was movement.

And I walked until the city softened into evening.
