The Attraction of Modern Cities
Some cities have a special kind of attraction.
For me, cities filled with skyscrapers and glass towers have always had an irresistible charm.
There is something fascinating about walking between tall buildings that reflect the sky and the light of the day.
Walking Through the City
This photograph was taken in downtown Vancouver, a city where I have some of my strongest travel memories.
Walking here can last for hours.
You move from street to street, between modern towers and smaller buildings, watching the reflections of the sky on the glass.
The city feels alive, yet calm at the same time.
The Weight of Long Walks
Eventually the long walks leave you exhausted.
But that is part of the experience.
A Reflection That Connects
Earlier, I wrote about Travel and the Rhythm of the City at Science World Vancouver where movement and everyday life shape the feeling of the city.
The Simple Ending
At the end of the day, the solution is simple.
You sit in a restaurant or a small café somewhere downtown.
You look up at the enormous towers around you, shining under the sky.
When Everything Slows Down
And suddenly you forget everything.
The fatigue disappears.
The Reward of Walking
All that remains is the quiet satisfaction of having explored a city on foot.
Travel often rewards those long walks.
A City Made for Walking
Especially in cities like Vancouver.
