Discovering Steveston Harbour

Steveston Harbour in Richmond is one of the most beautiful waterfront areas in the Vancouver region.

With calm waters, wooden docks, and buildings standing right above the water, it creates a unique atmosphere that combines tradition with modern life. It’s a place that immediately makes you slow down and look around.

A Perfect Spot for Coffee and Food

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I want to relax.

Sitting by the water with a coffee or enjoying a meal here feels different. The view, the quiet movement of the water, and the overall setting create a peaceful experience that is hard to find elsewhere.

It’s simple, but it stays with you.

Respect for the Working Boats

One of the most important elements of Steveston Harbour is the presence of professional fishing boats.

Seeing these boats up close creates a sense of respect. They are not just part of the scenery — they represent hard work, tradition, and the daily life of people connected to the sea.

It gives the area a deeper meaning beyond its beauty.

The History of Steveston Harbour

Steveston has a long and important history connected to fishing.

In the late 1800s, it became one of the main fishing and canning centers in British Columbia, especially known for salmon. By the early 1900s, it was one of the busiest fishing ports on the West Coast.

Over time, while the fishing industry evolved, the area maintained its character and identity. Today, Steveston Harbour is both a working fishing port and a popular destination for visitors.

A Place That Combines Everything

Steveston Harbour is not just a place to visit — it’s a place to experience.

It combines history, daily life, nature, and relaxation in a very natural way. Whether you come for a walk, a coffee, or simply to watch the boats, it always offers something real and authentic.

It’s one of those places you keep returning to.
